This is the CEI Bible, officially titled The Holy Bible, the Italian translation of the official Catholic Bible by the Italian Episcopal Conference (CEI).

The first printed translation dates back to 1471 with the Malermi Bible. The CEI Bible, recognized as the official version of the Italian Catholic Church, was first published in 1971. Prior to this, Archbishop Antonio Martini's translation from 1769–1781 was the most widely used. Furthermore, the standard reference for Italian Protestantism is the 1607 translation by Giovanni Diodati; a revised edition named Nuova Diodati in modern Italian was published in 1991.

The Bible, from the ancient Greek word βιβλίον meaning "book" or plural βιβλία meaning "books," is considered the sacred text of both the Jewish and Christian religions.

The CEI's official translation efforts began in 1965 with the aim to provide a suitable Italian translation for the Catholic liturgy, in line with the directives of Vatican II.

Christianity, a monotheistic and universalistic religion emerging from Judaism in the 1st century, revolves around Jesus of Nazareth (Jesus Christ) believed to be the Son of God, incarnate, who died and was resurrected for the redemption of humanity as the promised Messiah.

Followers of Christianity are known as Christians. They refer to Jesus Christ's message as the "Gospel" (or "good news"), which also signifies the earliest written texts about his life and teachings.
